Allegations Against Elvish Yadav
The Gurugram police have filed charges against Elvish Yadav, winner of Bigg Boss and a prominent YouTuber, over allegations of assaulting fellow YouTuber Sagar Thakur. Thakur, known as Maxtern on the video platform, claimed in his complaint that Yadav attempted to harm his spine. The police took action following the circulation of a video depicting Yadav purportedly attacking Thakur.
Concerns Raised by Sagar Thakur
In his complaint to the police, Sagar Thakur expressed concern for his safety, stating that Elvish Yadav posed a threat to his life. Thakur, who has been active on YouTube since 2017, highlighted his encounter with Yadav and his associates, accusing them of physically assaulting him and using abusive language.
Details of the Assault
Thakur alleged that Yadav’s intention was to incapacitate him physically by attempting to break his spine. The incident reportedly occurred at a shopping mall in Gurugram’s Sector 53 around 12:30 AM on March 8, 2024. Thakur also mentioned previous instances where Yadav’s fan pages had propagated hate against him, causing distress and prompting him to seek counseling from an NGO.
Legal Action Taken
After receiving the complaint, an FIR was lodged against Yadav and additional individuals under sections 147 (pertaining to riots), 149 (related to unlawful assembly), 323 (involving causing hurt), and 506 (in connection with criminal intimidation) of the IPC at Sector 53 Police Station on Friday evening, as confirmed by the police. SHO Rajender Kumar stated that an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
Social Media Response by Sagar Thakur
Thakur took to social media to voice his grievances and share his experience. He alleged that Yadav had threatened his life and provided details of the assault, including the involvement of multiple individuals. Thakur expressed dissatisfaction with the bailable sections under which the FIR was registered against Yadav, questioning the omission of murder charges and speculating about potential external influences.
Call for Justice
In a plea directed towards Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and the Gurugram Police, Thakur demanded the inclusion of non-bailable charges against Yadav for attempted murder and urged for his immediate arrest. Thakur condemned Yadav’s alleged promotion of violence and warned of potential consequences if adequate action is not taken against him.
Background of the Feud
The altercation between Thakur and Yadav stemmed from a social media feud, wherein Thakur criticized Yadav’s association with Bigg Boss winner Munawar Faruqui, leading to a physical confrontation between the two in Gurugram.
