The Union Public Service Commission has rescheduled the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024 from May 26 to June 16, as per the latest notification. This change follows the Election Commission’s announcement of the schedule for the 18th Lok Sabha elections, slated from April 19 to June 1, 2024.
Details of UPSC IAS Written Exams
The UPSC IAS written exams will consist of two shifts: General Studies and Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT), with the GS paper in the morning session from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and the afternoon session from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. The registration deadline for the UPSC IAS exam 2024 was extended to March 6, with a subsequent correction window open from March 7 to March 13.
Admit cards for the UPSC IAS prelims 2024 will be available for download at least 10 days before the exam on the official website.
Vacancies and Assessment Phases
This year, the UPSC has announced 1,056 vacancies for the CSE exam and 150 for the Indian Forest Service (IFoS), with three phases of assessment: prelims, mains, and personality test.
Candidates must meet specific age criteria to qualify for the exam, being between 21 and 32 years old as of August 1, 2024.
