The objective is to foster rural development, create fresh opportunities, and brighten the future for the residents of rural Kolavadai, nestled in the heart of Maharashtra.
Encouraging Customer Participation
The campaign, aligned with Skoda’s brand ethos of ‘Let’s Explore,’ urges customers not only to satisfy their thirst for adventure but also to become agents of change. Participants are encouraged to gather single-use plastic waste encountered during their explorations of uncharted territories and scenic landscapes across the country, and deposit the collections at the nearest Skoda Auto India dealership.
Transforming Waste into Opportunity
By partnering with the Public Welfare Department and NGO, Keshav Sita Trust, the initiative transforms waste into a positive force, recycling and repurposing it into construction bricks. These bricks are tailored for the benefit of rural and remote communities in India. The campaign has unlocked a unique opportunity to contribute to laying a crucial 2.5 km road in the Kolavadai district. Discarded plastic waste is now a stepping stone in this tale of transformation. What was once an isolated, remote village now stands connected by a paved road, facilitating locals’ access to education, healthcare, markets, and more.
This initiative has helped broaden the community’s horizons and illuminate the path to socio-economic prosperity.
