PM Modi Announces Reduction in LPG Cylinder Prices
In a significant announcement on International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared a reduction of Rs. 100 in the prices of LPG cylinders. This decision, as emphasized by the Prime Minister, aims not only to enhance the affordability of cooking gas but also to bolster the overall well-being of families while contributing to a healthier environment.
PM Modi’s Statement on Social Media
“Today, on Women’s Day, our government has opted to lower LPG cylinder prices by Rs. 100. This move will notably alleviate the financial strain on countless households nationwide, particularly benefiting our Nari Shakti,” PM Modi shared on social media platform X on Friday.
“By ensuring greater affordability of cooking gas, our objective is also to bolster family welfare and promote a greener environment. This aligns with our dedication to empowering women and ensuring their ‘Ease of Living’,” he further added.
Government’s Initiative: Distributing Free LPG Refills
Prime Minister Modi also extended his greetings on the occasion of International Women’s Day, applauding the strength, bravery, and resilience of women, acknowledging their achievements across diverse domains. He highlighted the government’s dedication to empowering women through various initiatives spanning education, entrepreneurship, agriculture, technology, and more, citing achievements over the past decade.
Distribution of Complimentary LPG Refills Under PMUY
PM Modi shared on X platform. Notably, the central government has distributed 14.17 crore complimentary LPG refills nationwide under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, according to an official statement. “From April 2020 to December 2020, the government offered up to three free refills to PMUY beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package,” Minister of State in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Rameswar Teli, explained in a written response in Rajya Sabha.
