The most challenging public services exam in India, UPSC CSE, has its final names for this year. On Tuesday, the Union Public Service Commission released the final results of the Civil Service Examinations(CSE) 2023.
The result was declared on its official website, upsc.gov.in.
This year, 1016 names have been recommended for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and Central Services Group A and Group B. The candidature of 355 recommended candidates has been kept provisional, and as many as 240 candidates have been put on a reserved list.
Who are the rank holders?
Aditya Srivastava has outshone all the candidates and emerged as the top performer with AIR 1, followed by Animesh Pradha and Donuru Ananya Reddy. Aditya is an IIT Kanpur alumnus from Lucknow who started his exam preparation in October 2017. Along with his IPS training, which he cleared in 2022 UPSC CSE, he had been preparing for the UPSC IAS exam.

About the exam: Dates, vacancies
The UPSC aimed at filling 1,105 positions across various government departments, saw a rigorous selection process. Candidates who cleared the preliminary exam held on May 28, 2023, proceeded to take the mains exam in September 2023. It was held in subjective mode over two shifts from September 15 to September 24.
Each shift lasted three hours, held in the morning from 9 am to 12 pm and afternoon from 2 pm to 5 pm. Only those who emerged successful in the mains were called for personality tests, conducted between January 2 and April 9, 2024, for a total of 1026 candidates.
UPSC data shared today the government has reported 1,143 vacancies, of which 180 in IAS, 37 in IPS, 200 in IPS, 613 posts in different central Group A services and 113 in Group B services to be filled through the civil services examination 2023, reported the Indian Express.
How many candidates had applied?
Out of the total 10,16,850 candidates applying for the UPSC Civil Services examination, 5,92,141 candidates actually appeared. Of them, 14,624 candidates qualified for the UPSC CSE Main (written) exam, and 2,855 candidates qualified for the interview and personality test.

Step 4: Your scorecard will appear on the screen.
Step 5: Download your scorecard for future reference.
