Cody Rhodes officially completed his winning ambitions by winning the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship from Roman Reigns, ending his multi-year reign in the main event of the second night of WrestleMania 40.

The American Nightmare and The Tribal Chief left no stone unturned to surpass their classic WrestleMania 39 match, and it’s safe to say they achieved it with flying colors.
As expected, the wrestling universe couldn’t stay calm after Cody won the gold, and the reactions to his victory were constant. Now, Rhea Ripley, who retained her Women’s Championship against Becky Bynch at Night One of WrestleMania 40, has reacted to Cody Rhodes’ memorable victory.
The match took place under Bloodline Rules, which was decided by Rhodes and former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, who lost to The Rock and Reigns in the main event on the first night. The rules of the match allowed the likes of Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, and The Rock to interfere on behalf of Reigns, but Rhodes was assisted by Rollins, Jey Uso, John Cena, and even The Undertaker dressed in SHIELD gear.
After the win, various babyfaces joined Rhodes from behind in the ring, including Kevin Owens, LA Knight, Randy Orton and many others. Rhodes was joined by his wife Brandi Rhodes, his mother and the family of the late Brodie Lee. Rhodes got on the mic after the match and thanked Bruce Pritchard and also asked Paul “Triple H” Levesque to join him in celebrating what Rhodes called a new era, and the two shook hands and hugged of.
Reigns and Rhodes fought in the middle of the ring in front of the crowd because everything was legal during the match. Several spears, doomsday kicks, Superman punches, Cody Cutters and more were hit during the fight. Rhodes was able to win by hitting three Cross Rhodes in a row after Reigns’ former SHIELD teammate Rollins interfered.
Even Cody Rhodes said before winning the WWE Undisputed Championship that he would make changes to the championship if he won it against Roman Reigns.
Cody Rhodes said: “The belt that Roman has now that we call the Undisputed Universal Championship of WWE. Sunday I win, we don’t call it a long shot. It’s just the WWE Championship.”.
