On Monday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination papers for the Wayanad lok sabha seat for the upcoming election.
Rahul Gandhi presented with his sister Priyanka Gandhi along with a large number of party workers.
Before filling the nomination form, he held a road show from kalpetta in which he was accompanied by his sister Priyanka Gandhi and AICC general secretaries K C Venugopal and Deepa Das, AICC in-charge of the National Students’ Union of India Kanhaiya Kumar as well as Leader of Opposition in the state assembly V D Satheesan and KPCC acting president M M Hassan.
Ahead of filing his nomination papers, Rahul Gandhi said that “he treats people of Wayanad as he treats his younger sister Priyanka Gandhi. So in the houses of Wayanad, I have sisters, mothers, fathers and brothers. And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that,”
In 2019 Lok Sabha election, Rahul Gandhi won election with the massive margin of four lakh votes.
Rahul Gandhi declares his Assets
According to the affidavit filed by Rahul Gandhi, leader of Congress has stock market investments of Rs 4.3 crore, mutual fund deposits of Rs 3.81 crore, and Rs 26.25 lakh in a bank account.
The affidavit also shows that Rahul Gandhi has ₹55,000 in cash and a total income of ₹1,02,78,680 during the financial year 2022-23.
Gandhi also declared Rs 55,000 in cash and a total income of Rs 1,02,78,680 (Rs 1.02 crore) during the financial year 2022-23.
He also possesses gold bonds worth Rs 15.2 lakh. He has investments in National Savings Schemes, Postal Savings, and insurance policies, among others, worth Rs 61.52 lakh. And jewellery assets are worth Rs 4.2 lakh, as per the affidavit. He also has a liability of Rs 49.7 lakh.
According to the details equipped along with his nomination, the total value of his movable assets stands at Rs.9.24 crore. while the total value of his immovable property is around Rs 11.14 crore. His total assets are worth over Rs 20 crore.
Gandhi also declared his agricultural land owned jointly with sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Delhi, Mehruli, along with office space Gurugram valued at 11 Crore.
