A legendary tank PT-76 from the Indo-Pak War came alive after more than three decades for a movie which grabs interest of the audience and raise the question into their minds about what went behind the scenes in the battle of Garibpur.
Actor Ishan Khatter led war-movie Pipa will answering answering all the questions of the audience.
Words from the Director about PT-76 tank
Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, the film is based on the book “The Burning Chaffees” written by Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta. The movie follows Battle of Garibpur, a pivotal conflict during the war of Indo-Pakistan 1971, which played a very important role in Bangladesh’s fight for Indipendence with the help of Indian army.
The title is inspired from the legendary tank PT-76 which is like empty boat that floats on the water.
In an interview the Director said that the team was lucky to have have found one original PT-76 tank from the war.
“But it was not in a functional state”, Mr. Director continued further and said that “we found one tank which was the real PT-76. it was dilapidated , not functional . it took us about 8 months to get it up and running. We did shoot a lot of the film on that tank. We just had to schedule it in certain way , but it was largely that tank.”

Also the actor Ishan said that “I will tell you an interesting story about PT-76. As Raja said about how we resurrected it , its life was liteally up till we did the last shot with it. As we were doing last show, the hull blew up and black smoke started coming out of the tank . Now, I was in the middle of a 100 ft deep lake on the tank!”
he added that when the tank was blew up, they had to come back on land.
Their driver was a soldier in 60 years of age , and when he came out he told te team that the tank breathed its las during the final shot of the movie .”it only came alive to give us the movie!”
The movie will releasing on November 10 produced by RSVP and also starring Mrunal Thakur, Priyanshu Painyuli and SoniRazdan .
