Investigation Underway with Government Authorization in Rameshwaram Cafe
Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar assured on Friday that the police are actively investigating the incident with full authorization from the government.
“Police are conducting an investigation; the government has given them full authority. The government has treated the matter seriously,” Shivakumar conveyed to ANI.
BJP Criticized for Politicizing Issue in Karnataka
Shivakumar also criticized the BJP for politicizing the issue and damaging Bengaluru’s reputation. He urged the BJP to reflect on their own actions during their tenure first.
“It’s regrettable that the BJP has forgotten their past. I prefer not to engage in politics over such matters. Let them pursue their political agenda. They are undermining the state’s dignity. In these circumstances, we must prioritize the unity and peace of the nation’s people,” expressed DK Shivakumar.
Chief Minister’s Caution Against Political Exploitation
Meanwhile, Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah cautioned the opposition BJP against politicizing the issue.
Responding to BJP leaders’ claims linking such incidents to minority appeasement, Siddaramaiah retorted, “During their tenure, a bomb exploded too. What measures did they take when the Mangalore cooker bomb exploded? Was that also appeasement?”
Siddaramaiah urged the opposition not to politicize the issue, stating, “A thorough investigation is ongoing. The BJP should refrain from politicizing this matter. The Mangalore blast and the Bengaluru explosion are unrelated. The explosion is still under investigation, and appropriate action will be taken following the report.”
Police Investigation and Government Directives
The explosion at Bengaluru’s renowned Rameshwaram cafe in the Whitefield area on Friday left 10 people injured.
Meanwhile, a team from the Karnataka Police arrived at the explosion site on Sunday morning as part of their ongoing investigation.
This development follows Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s statement on Saturday, emphasizing the necessity for the complete truth regarding the Rameshwara Cafe incident to emerge. He instructed senior police officials to leverage technology effectively in their investigations.
Siddaramaiah proposed providing security to the populace and instructed officials to identify densely populated areas and bolster police patrols in such locations.
