Andhra Pradesh, aka AP, shines as the forebearer of democracy in this Lok Sabha election. The southern state, which went to polling in the first four phases of elections, recorded the highest polling percentage.

What is AP’s polling percentage?
The final polling percentage of Andhra Pradesh touched 81.86% as the state went to polls for the 175-member state assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) declared the result Wednesday, stating that the cumulative polling percentage included 80.66 through EVMs and 1.2 through postal ballots, essential service, and home votes.

Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena proudly shared the laudable estimates and said, “This was the highest-ever polling percentage in Andhra Pradesh since the bifurcation of the Telugu state in 2014”.
He said, “The polling continued even after 6 p.m. on May 13 at more than 3,500 polling stations, and the last vote was exercised at around 2 a.m. on May 14.”
Constituency-wise vote percentage
Ongole Lok Sabha constituency recorded the highest polling percentage, 87.06, while Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency registered the lowest, 71.11.
As for Assembly constituencies, Darsi recorded the highest at 90.91%, followed by 87.75% at Ungutur in Eluru district, 87.72% in Pedana in Krishna district, 87.32% in Nuzvid in Eluru district, 87.11% in Pamarru in Krishna district, 86.75% in Addanki in Bapatla district and 86.50% in Nandigama and Jaggayyapet.
Tirupati assembly constituency recorded the lowest percentage of 63.32.
Active voters in the state
The CEO said that out of the total voters of 4,13,33,702 in the State, 2,02,74,144 were male, 2,10,56,137 were female, and 3,421 were third-gender voters.
Of the total 3,33,40,560 voters who cast their vote in the EVMs, 1,64,30,359 were male, 1,69,08,684 were female, and 1,517 were third-gender voters.
The votes polled increased by 1% and 2% compared to the previous two sessions of 2019 and 2014, respectively. While 79.77% of the votes were registered in 2019, the figure was 78.41% in 2014.
