The NEET 2024 examination results were declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on June 4. Students have the option to verify their results for the undergraduate entrance test on either the official NTA NEET website at exams.nta.ac.in/NEET or at neet.ntaonline.in.
Upon the announcement of the NEET results, the NTA will reveal the top achievers nationwide and the required scores for various categories. The exam’s final answer key was released on June 3, with the results anticipated to come soon, as per historical patterns.
The NEET UG exam was held on May 5th. An initial answer key was given on May 29, and the deadline for submitting objections closed on June 1.
The NTA will generate the Merit List and All India Rank (AIR) by adhering to the eligibility criteria and regulations set forth by different governing bodies like NMC, DGHS, MCC, DCI, Ministry of AYUSH, NCISM, NCH, and AACCC.
This year, the NEET-UG exam saw a record number of 2406079 candidates registering. Out of the total number, 2333297 candidates, which is 96.9%, had taken the exam, and among them, 13162686 candidates, or 56.4%, passed. The passing rate remains consistent with last year, standing at 56.2%.
This year, there was a rise in the minimum passing score on the exam. The qualifying marks for the unreserved category went up from 720-137 last year to 720-164 this year. Likewise, the figures have risen for OBC SC, and ST groups from 136-107 to 163-129 compared to the previous year.
Total number of MBBS seats in India
The number of MBBS seats available in India fluctuates regularly. Reservation criteria
The eligibility requirements for educational courses are established as such: 15% of spots in each course are allocated for Scheduled Castes (SC) and 7.5% are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST).
People with Disabilities (PwBD) are given a 5% reservation in all categories, including General, General-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC and ST. This reservation is applied universally across all categories as a horizontal measure.
