On April 28, video clips showcasing MP Prajwal Revanna allegedly sexually abusing party workers and other women went viral. A video explicitly featuring a 33-year-old particularly went viral.
Consequently, a police complaint was filed, and most significantly, the accused, Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna, fled to Germany on a diplomatic passport a day after the first phase of Lok Sabha polls.
A Special Investigation Team was formed to probe the multiple sexual harassment cases.
Karnataka Chief Minister G Parameshwara, on Sunday, stated that the SIT via CBI has sought the help of Interpol to bring the JD(S) lawmaker back to India.

“Already, a Blue Corner notice has been issued. Interpol will inform all the countries and locate him,” Parameshwara said.
This development came within hours of the accused’s father, HD Revanna’s arrest from the residence of his father- former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, on molestation and kidnapping charges. He was taken to Bowring & Lady Curzon Hospital for a medical examination on Saturday.

Additionally, HD Revanna’s confidant, Sathish Babanna, has been arrested in connection with the case.
What is the consequence of the notice?
Blue notices are referred to as “enquiry notices” or B Series (Blue) Notices, as per the CBI website. According to reports, Prajwal Revanna is anticipated to surrender after the issuance of such notices.
The notice helps in “identity verification, obtaining particulars of a person’s criminal record, and locating someone who is missing or an identified or unidentified international criminal or is wanted for a violation of ordinary criminal law and whose extradition may be requested”, the website further explains.
What is Blue Corner notice?
It is part of Interpol’s colour-coded notices, which enable countries to share alerts and requests for information worldwide. Interpol’s function is to share critical crime-related information to help police in its member countries.
Blue Corner Notice is issued by the international police cooperation body to collect additional information about a person’s identity, location, or activities related to a crime from its member countries. Simply put, the Blue notice is meant to further the investigating agencies’ enquiries.
There are seven types of notices – Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, Green, Orange, and Purple.
